Chris Young arrived in Nashville in 2006, after winning the TV Show “Nashville Star”, but he had a bit of a slow start to his career once he signed with RCA Records. Chris Young’s debut self titled album peaked at #3 on the US Country Charts, but both singles released never cracked the Top 40.
Fast forward to CMA Fest 2008, Chris decided to email fans who visited him at his booth a copy of his upcoming single “Voices.” By August of 2008 “Voices” had become Chris Young’s first Top 40 single. Chris Young’s second album “The Man I Wanna Be” was released in September 2009 and Chris scored back to back #1 singles with “Getting You Home (The Black Dress)” and “The Man I Wanna Be.” His label then decided to re-release “Voices” which became his third straight #1 single. Chris’s second album also brought him 2 Gold Certifications for “Voices” and “Getting You Home.”
In 2011 Chris Young released “Neon” while touring with Jason Aldean on the “My Kinda Party” Tour. “Neon” has produced Chris’s fourth & fifth consecutive #1 singles in a row as well as both “Tomorrow” & “You” being Gold Certified. “It’s a huge deal to me,” Chris told AP reporters prior to the No. 1 party. “I was so excited that we got five in a row. That’s really, really hard to do, and I think when people go back and look and you realize what a small contingent [of artists] that have been able to do five in a row . . . there’s not a lot of those streaks going right now.” Chris Young’s next single off of his current album will be the title track “Neon.”
