Due to television time constraints, several ACM Awards are given off-camera before the actual show takes place, and today is the day that several of those awards were announced. Here is a quick run-down of who won what. Congrats to all of the winners! The ACM Awards will air this Sunday night at 8pm on CBS live from Las Vegas!
- Career Achievement Award – Reba McEntire
- Jim Reeves International Award – Taylor Swift (for outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world)
- Tex Ritter Award – Country Strong (given to a movie released and/or receiving major exposure during the preceding calendar year, featuring or utilizing country music)
- Mae Boren Axton Award – John Dorris (given in recognition of years of dedication and service by an outstanding individual to the Academy of Country Music)
- Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award – Garth Brooks, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers (honoring individuals who are pioneers in the country music genre)
- Poet’s Award – Tom T. Hall, Hank Cochran (honors songwriters for outstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their careers in the field of country music)
- Producer of the Year – Paul Worley
- Audio Engineer of the Year – Chuck Ainlay
- Bass Player of the Year – Glenn Worf
- Percussionist/Drummer of the Year – Eddie Bayers
- Guitarist of the Year – Tom Bukovac
- Fiddle Player of the Year – Aubrey Haynie
- Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year – Gordon Mote
- Specialty Instrument(s) Player of the Year – Bryan Sutton
- Steel Guitar Player of the Year – Dan Dugmore
- Casino of the Year – Mohegan Sun Casino – Uncasville, CT
