Florida’s own Amanda Cooksey has a new single out with the Friday release of “Chicago,” the latest in a trilogy of releases about a recent breakup.
“My last two releases were about the same breakup I went through a few years ago. ‘Chicago’ is a continuation of that story and it is definitely the most vulnerable song out of the trilogy. After the relationship ended, my ex started seeing someone from Chicago and he happened to be in that city right before our breakup. So, the song for me is about the stage of a breakup when you’re searching for answers to get closure, but end up creating scenarios in your mind that can drive you a little crazy,” said Cooksey.
