Shay Marie
Shay Marie
At the young age of seven, this singer-songwriter knew she had a big voice and was drawn to the kindred spirits of country’s great female belters. Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, and LeAnn Rimes were Shay Marie’s early influences that helped shape her into the artist she is today. Her ability to bring elements of soul, pop, alternative and rock to her country has created a dynamic entertainer. “Soulful country is my sound. I didn’t choose it, it chose me.” Her confidence and love of the spotlight, together with her easy-going personality, make Shay Marie a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
The talented and charismatic vocalist is a South Florida Native, born and raised in West Palm Beach. She has been performing live since 2009, both as a solo act and with local bands. She began singing in school at just 6 years old before graduating to bigger stages like the National Anthem at Minor and Major League baseball games in her home town. She was soon sought after for festivals, events, Chili Cookoffs, restaurants, clubs, and over 30 venues across South Florida. At the age of 16, Shay Marie traveled to Tennessee to sing on the Nashville Circuit. “It was the most incredible feeling, but it was downstairs on the main stage of the World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge where I found myself. I realized that I was right where I wanted to be.”
Shay Marie recently returned from Nashville after recording her first single “It Ain’t Pretty,” written by prominent Nashville songwriters Eric Paslay and Nicolle Galyon. “The first time this song was pitched to me, I knew I had to record it. I fell in love instantly. I was at a very vulnerable time in my life, so I wanted my first single to be real and raw. Recording for the first time at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio was both an amazing and humbling experience.”
Shay Marie is currently performing live shows, working on original music and eventually plans to relocate to Nashville to further her career in country music.
