Ladies Night at The Round Up – Davie Round Up Country Western Night Club, Davie FL |
South Florida lost a prominent figure in the country music community this weekend. Randy Carrillo, founder of Morgan Renee Live, has passed away after a 2-month battle against various ailments. Recognized by his trademark sunglasses and smile, he named his concert production company after his daughter Morgan who was his whole world. You may not have known who he was, but Randy was responsible for bringing some of the best concerts to South Florida over the past several years.
The announcement was made this morning via his Morgan Renee Live Facebook Page, with the following statement:
- Allan Wood (“DJ Woody” at Renegades) – Words can’t express how I feel right now. Randy Carrillo was not only someone who knew how to put on a bad ass concert, he was also a great friend. We worked together on so many shows and it definitely won’t be the same without him around to bounce concert ideas or plans off of. The music and concert industry definitely lost one of the best. He was also a loving family man. He loved his daughter more than anything and always showed love to my family as well, especially to my daughter Ambrie. I am glad he is no longer suffering and hope he’s showing heaven that big smile and his always cool shades . We will miss him down here for sure. Rock on, Randy!
- Alyssa Marie Coon (local artist) – Heaven gained an angel last night. I will miss you Randy Carrillo of Morgan Renee Live. I’m grateful for the opportunities and support you have given me. Thank you for always believing in me.
- Greg Hardwig (Father and Manager of Sarah Hardwig, local artist) – RIP Randy Carrillo – Morgan Renee Live – Thank you for always believing in Sarah. You will be missed
- Jennifer Schwartz (Formerly of Renegades) – Heart broken to hear of the passing of Randy Carrillo. Not only a great mentor but a dear friend for so many years. Many of my very best memories are with Randy and the many shows we produced. He saw potential in me early on and I was blessed to be able to follow my passion for the music business with him by my side for many years. The only thing he loved more than music is his Beautiful and Brilliant baby girl Morgan Renée. I love you sweetheart and so very sorry for your loss. Heaven gained a Very Special angel and he is for sure dancing and singing with all the angels in heaven.
- John Linsday (GM of The Round Up Nightclub) – Woke up this morning to loss of a great friend, colleague, and mentor Randy Carrillo. A great concert promoter and better friend, over the years our friendship became less about doing shows and more about our love of the music business and our families. He always treated me like family, and always made sure to asked about mine . His faith, and his love for his daughter Morgan were always at the forefront of any conversation, and perhaps his greatest lesson to a workaholic like me was perspective. I will miss you my friend, you’re support , advice, and your belief in me will always be appreciated and will always humble me. I’m sure you’ve gone on to produce a bigger show in a much better room. My thoughts and condolences to your pride and joy Morgan, and the entire Morgan Renee Live family. Keep smiling up there, and always be the coolest guy in the room. God Bless you my friend, Thank You for everything, I’ll see you down the road.
- Renegades – Today, the country music industry lost a great man and Renegades lost a member of our family. Randy Carrillo passed away last night due to complications with his heart. Randy was an icon in West Palm Beach. What made Randy tick was his love for his daughter, Morgan Renee. She was the apple of his eye. He was so proud of all of her accomplishments and the young lady she became. His passion for music was bar none. His ability to put on a concert for everyone to enjoy was his true calling. No matter how many issues there were prior to, or during the concert, Randy was a true professional and got the job done seamlessly for the guests to enjoy. His smile was infectious and his heart was huge. Renegades will be forever grateful for the time, energy, professionalism and friendship Randy has shown not only to the staff, but also to the regulars and everyone who has known him over the past 20 years. He will surely be missed from Texas to Tennessee to Florida. Rest in Peace Randy and enjoy the music on the other side with Missy.
