The week started with most of Florida being affected by Tropical Storm Isaac, which included both of our main locations which each lost internet for nearly a week. Due to the outage, we were limited in the amount of news we could bring you, so here’s a review of everything that went on this week (and there’s a lot!)
- 99.9 Kiss Country (WKIS – Miami) announced their lineup for this year’s Stars & Guitars show in Hollywood, FL. The lineup includes Lee Brice, Phil Vassar, Thompson Square, Lauren Alaina, and Easton Corbin!
- Casey James released the video for his new single, “Crying on a Suitcase.” Check it out here!
- The 2012 CMA Award Nominees will be announced this coming Wednesday (September 5th) on ABC by Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, and Lee Brice. The 46th CMA Awards will one again be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
- Colt Ford is coming to Renegades this Thursday (September 6th) and we’ve got tickets to give away. Click here to enter! Also, congrats to Colt who’s latest single, “Back” (featuring Jake Owen) is the highest charting single of his career as it is starting to climb onto the charts. It’s about time he gets some recognition and airplay from radio!
- Colt Ford recently announced his first ever charity golf tournament. For all the details, click here!
- Country Radio is dominated by a select few artists who get a majority of the airplay. Read about it here.
- Dustin Lynch is having a good week! His debut album was the #1 country album in it’s first week in release, and his debut single, “Cowboys and Angels” has reached the Top 10 and has sold over 500,000 digital downloads! Congrats Dustin!
- Eric Church was recently interviewed by Billboard Music, and the part that jumps out the most is the fact that he plans on taking most of 2013 off to focus on songwriting. He does intend to release at least one more single after “Creepin'” from his current album Chief.
- Florida Georgia Line has released the video for their debut single, “Cruise.” You can see it by clicking here! They will be coming to Florida next month with shows at the Round Up in Davie on October 4th and Joyland in Bradenton on October 5th.

- Joe Diffie’s bus caught on fire early Friday morning…luckily it was just a small fire and everyone got away unscathed.
- Justin Moore released the video for his new single “Til My Last Day” yesterday. Click here to watch it!
- Keith Urban, high school teacher? Keith will be teaching a 75 minute class as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame‘s educational program. Keith was also in the news for being named the latest judge on the next season of American Idol after Brad Paisley turned it down.

- LeAnn Rimes had a rough week, as she entered into a rehab facility to treat stress and anxiety and had to file a lawsuit against two women for invasion of privacy. At least she did have some good news, and she announced the release of her new, updated website leannrimesworld.com!
- Congratulations to Michael Martin Murphy, Lynn Anderson, Ed Bruce, Charlie McCoy, Terry Smith, John Rex Reeves and Ted Vigil on being inducted into the Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame this week!
- NBC has bought the rights to a new TV show loosely based on Miranda Lambert’s childhood, as she and her brother grew up with their parents being private investigators. Miranda will be the Executive Producer of the project.
- Randy Houser released the music video for his new single, “How Country Feels.” Check it out here!
